Tokyo Airports

Tokyo is served by two main international airports: Narita International Airport (NRT) and Haneda Airport (HND), both offering various connections and facilities, but with different characteristics and locations.

Narita Airport

Narita, located around 70 km from Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture, primarily serves international flights, offering connections to over 100 cities worldwide.

It’s a bit further from Tokyo, requiring about 36-60 minutes by train or bus to reach central Tokyo. Despite its distance, Narita is equipped with excellent public transport options, such as the Keisei Skyliner and Narita Express, providing quick access to major Tokyo districts.

Like Haneda, Narita has extensive facilities, including duty-free shops, restaurants, and lounges. It’s also known for handling more international routes compared to Haneda, making it a popular choice for long-haul travelers.

Haneda Airport

Haneda is located much closer to central Tokyo, about 15-20 km from key areas like Tokyo Station and Shibuya. This makes it the most convenient airport for access to the city, taking around 15-30 minutes by train.

It handles both domestic and international flights, with a focus on the former, and is one of the busiest airports in Asia. Despite the traffic, Haneda is known for its efficient services and modern facilities, including numerous shopping, dining, and relaxation options.

Its close proximity and good public transport connections make it ideal for quick trips to Tokyo. The best anche cheapest way to move from Tokyo to Haneda Airport and viceversa is the Airport Shuttle.
